Do I need a CSCS test for a Green Labourer Card?

How long is the CSCS test valid for?

A passed CSCS test is valid for two years. You must apply for your CSCS card within this time or you’ll need to retake the test.

How long does the CSCS test take?

Most CSCS tests take 45 minutes, although some specialist or higher-level tests may allow slightly longer. You’ll complete the test on a computer under exam conditions.

Is the CSCS test multiple choice?

Yes. All CSCS tests are computer-based, multiple-choice exams that assess your knowledge of health, safety and environmental issues relevant to your role.

Can I do my CSCS course and test on the same day?

Yes. If you’re applying for a CSCS Green Card, MAST Safety offers the Health & Safety Awareness course and CSCS test together, allowing you to complete everything in one visit.

What do I need to bring to my CSCS test?

You’ll need to bring valid photographic ID (such as a passport or driving licence) on the day of your CSCS test. Without valid ID, you will not be allowed to sit the test.
