This one-day Health & Safety Awareness course is designed for people new to construction or those needing a recognised qualification to work safely on site.
Delivered in line with CITB Site Safety Plus standards, the course provides essential knowledge of site hazards, legal responsibilities, and safe working practices.
What the course covers
During this practical, classroom-based course, you’ll gain a clear understanding of:
- Common hazards found on construction sites
- Your responsibilities for working safely
- Basic health & safety law and why it matters
- How risk assessments and method statements are used
- How to report unsafe conditions or behaviours
- The importance of following site rules and procedures
The course is delivered in plain English, with real examples, making it accessible even if you’ve never worked on site before.

- New entrants to the construction industry
- Labourers applying for a CSCS Green Card
- Apprentices and trainees
- Anyone needing basic site health & safety knowledge
No previous experience or qualifications are required.

Successful delegates receive a CITB Health & Safety Awareness certificate, valid for 5 years.
Health & Safety Awareness + CSCS Test (Same Day)
This course date includes the CITB Health & Safety Awareness course and the CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test, completed on the same day at the same venue.
This option is ideal if you want a simple, efficient route to applying for your CSCS Green Labourer Card, without needing to travel to a separate test centre.
CSCS test preparation
To help you prepare for the CSCS test, we strongly recommend revising in advance using the official CITB revision apps:
- Apple App Store – CSCS HS&E Test Revision App
- Google Play Store – CSCS HS&E Test Revision App
These apps include:
- Practice questions and mock tests
- Hazard perception practice
- Revision materials aligned with the real CSCS test
Using the app before your course date will significantly improve confidence and pass rates.
For your information
- Please ensure you bring photographic ID with you
- Language Guidance. All delegates on the course must have a good understanding of English in order to undertake the multiple choice question paper. If our trainer believes the delegate cannot understand or speak English they have the right to refuse them on to the course. If a delegate can speak and understand English but cannot read English, a staff member can read the question paper out to them. If you require any further guidance, please contact us prior to the course date.
Administration Charge
Changes to any booking will incur an administration charge of £50.00 + VAT.
Payment Terms
Payment required in full prior to course commencement. Your place is not guaranteed until full payment is received.
Refund/Cancellation Charges
- If any training is cancelled more than 30 days before the course start date, then a full refund will be offered.
- If any training is cancelled between 14-30 days before the course start date, then a 75% refund will be offered.
- If any training is cancelled between 7-14 days before the course start date, then a 50% refund will be offered.
- If training is cancelled less than 7 days before the course start date, then no refund is offered.
