MAST Safety has moved. Our office is now at 11 Westferry Circus, Canary Wharf, London E14 4HE, and the address was chosen for one reason: it puts us within easy reach of the organisations we act for, wherever they operate.

Those organisations are in London, across the South East and further afield. As the practice has grown, so has the map, and the new office is a base built for that rather than a marker of where we will work.

A base built for getting out of

Canary Wharf was chosen for how easily our consultants leave it. They spend their working days on client sites rather than at a desk, and the practical measure of a consultancy is whether somebody can be with you when you need them to be.

A site audit, a fire risk assessment or a visit after an incident all involve one of our people standing in your building, looking at the work as it is really done. The office is where reports are written and the phone is answered. It has never been where the work happens, and the move was made with that firmly in mind.

Compliance follows the contract, not the postcode.

A client with sites in more than one place does not want a different competent person for each of them, and a Principal Designer appointment does not stop at a boundary on a map. Neither does a fire safety duty. Where a client’s work goes, the appointment goes with it.

A growing range of services

The other half of the growth is what we can take on once we are there. Most organisations do not have a single Health & Safety problem. They have a set of obligations that arrived separately, sit alongside each other in practice, and get handled by whoever was available at the time.

Under one appointment we cover retained consultancy and the named competent person role, audits and inspections, risk assessments, policies, RAMS and documentation, CDM and Principal Designer duties, accident investigation and HSE support, and SSIP and accreditation applications.

Fire safety has become a substantial part of the practice, and it runs from assessment through to the work the assessment calls for: fire risk assessments, fire door inspections and remedial works, compartmentation surveys and fire stopping. A finding does not sit on an action plan waiting for a second contractor to be appointed.

Alongside those sit Legionella risk assessments, PAT testing, HR support and training arranged through our course advisor, who identifies the right course, books it and confirms the dates. Group training is delivered at the client’s own premises.

The point is not the length of the list. It is that one team, with one point of contact, already knows your sites and your documentation before a client audit, an accreditation renewal or an HSE visit puts them under scrutiny.

For clients already appointed

Your arrangements are unchanged: the same consultants, the same phone number, the same email addresses, the same visit schedule. The postal address is the only detail worth updating.

Appointing MAST Safety

We are built around retained appointments rather than one-off instructions, because compliance is not a piece of work that finishes. If your obligations are spread across several suppliers, or across more than one site, there is a simpler arrangement available.

Tell us how you operate and we will set out what your duties actually are, and what it would take to meet them, before you commit to anything.
