Multi-Awareness Training
This training course covers five awareness subjects on 1 day. Each subject will be separately certified for 2 years.
Subjects covered include: Asbestos Awareness, Fire Marshall/Fire Safety Awareness, Abrasive Wheels, Working at Height with Ladder Safety & Manual Handling.
Asbestos Awareness will cover:
- The properties of asbestos and it’s effects on health, including its interaction with smoking.
- The types of products or materials likely to contain asbestos.
- The operations which could result in asbestos exposure and the importance of preventive controls to minimise exposure.
- Safe work practices.
- Control measures
- Protective Equipment (PPE)
- What you can and cannot do.
- Emergency procedures
Fire Marshall/Fire Safety Awareness outlines the responsibilities of a fire warden and provides guidance on how to perform their duties and includes:
- The main requirements of the current fire safety legislation
- The role and responsibility of fire wardens
- Action in the event of a fire
- Evacuation Procedures
- What to do in the event of a fire
- Types of extinguisher and their safe application and use
- Hazard spotting
- Fire precaution measures
- Fire science basics
Abrasive Wheels Awareness online training course raises awareness of the dangers associated with abrasive wheels and the practical steps that can be taken to minimise and control the risks that they present.
The course covers what an abrasive wheel is, key legislation and guidance, the common hazards, selection and handling of wheels, safe use of wheels, the use of personal protective equipment and respiratory protective equipment and controlling the risk posed by dust.
Working at Height with Ladder Safety awareness course is aimed at anyone who undertakes work at height, or who employs people who regularly work at height and/or use ladders
The course covers topics including the dangers of working at height, the regulations, the hierarchy of controls, assessing risk and much more.
Upon completion of this Manual Handling Course, you will:
- Understand the reasons for safer manual handling
- Understand how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety
- Understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with Manual Handling safety
